FF Corse: Aero Kit Launched for Ferrari 458 Challenge
...23/01/2012
Carbon Aero-Kit eligible for Ferrari Open, GT Cup, Britcar & British GT
FF Corse have released their 2012 carbon GTC Aero Kit for the Ferrari 458 Challenge and are now taking orders for the kits for forthcoming race season.
The kit, developed during last season, has been designed in-house by FF Corse and builds upon the knowledge gained from developing the race winning Ferrari 430 GTC aero kits.
The update kits are eligible for UK Ferrari Open, GT Cup, Britcar & British GT Championships amongst others.
The aero kit helps make the car considerably more stable and easier to drive closer to the limit than the standard Ferrari 458 Challenge. The grip on the front and rear, along with the overall balance of the car, has been significantly improved. As a direct result the lap times have also been dramatically improved over the standard car.
During testing on the Silverstone National (1.6 miles) circuit the FF Corse run car of Gary Eastwood, using old tyres and standard dampers, lapped over 1 second per lap quicker than previous qualifying times. This is expected to equate to a 2-3 sec. per lap difference on the longer circuits and when fitted with FF Corse race dampers further improvements are expected.
The kit costs £11,979+VAT in carbon, excluding painting and fitting. FF Corse members qualify for a 10% discount on supply of the kit. Additional options include the supply of FF Corse developed adjustable dampers and race suspension.
For further information on the GTC aero kit and options please contact Ilan Manor, Telephone 01327 857601, or email imanor@ffcorse.com
Pole position for 2012 Dubai 24hr race
...16/01/2012
FF Corse supported Ferrari 458 GT3 takes pole position and leads race
The FF Corse supported Ferrari 458 GT3 driving team of Rob Barff, Leon Price, Jordan Grogor and Charlie Hollings, took pole position for last weekend's grueling Dubai 24hr race, ahead of grid of 73 starting entries.
The race marked the International debut in a 24hr race for the FF Corse team. And a qualifying lap time of 2:02.092, set by Rob Barff in the second session, was good enough to take pole position and lead the race against a grid of very strong and Internationally renowned competition.

As the car headed into darkness the team looked very well placed to secure a great result.
Unfortunately disaster struck 5hrs in and after 142 laps.
Following a collision whilst lapping a slower car, the gearbox internals and a driveshaft became damaged.
The result of which left the car with no drive to the rear wheels. The #12 car was out and the dream of a debut victory was in tatters.

Charity Rides at Brands Hatch with FF Corse & Matt Neal
FF Corse supported the Injured Soldiers Charity Event at Brands Hatch last week. The event is organised by Gary Eastwood and supported by many of his friends and colleagues.

The event was a great success and FF Corse has received great feedback from the supported charities, The Not Forgotten Association and The Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund.

First Test for Ferrari 458 Challenge 2012 Aero Kit
FF Corse & regular driver Gary Eastwood had a successful test session at Silverstone last Friday with the new 2012 aero kit. The team ran a standard Ferrari 458 Challenge, fitted with the new GTC aero kit for the first time and immediately lapped the National circuit in a time faster than the Pole Position time set at the Ferrari Open race meeting the previous month.

The debut outing for the car was even more remarkable in that the time was set using 60 lap old tyres and in a general testing conditions. Further testing is set to be undertaken on additional suspension and brake modifications and the update kits will be available for FF Corse members for racing and track-days next year. Further details are available upon request.

Toby Tarrant-Willis (#38) also finished on the podium in both races with third overall, winning the F430 Challenge class on both occasions.

Ferrari Open (Snetterton)
...15/09/2011
Race Report: Ferrari Open (Snetterton)- September 10th & 11th , 2011
With four cars racing at Snetterton in the Ferrari Open Series last weekend, it has been a busy few weeks for the FF Corse team.
Having narrowly missed out on overall race victory in both races, Gary Eastwood finished second overall and recorded class wins in both races.
Leon Price also recorded a good result in race one, finishing 3rd overall and 2nd in the Ferrari F430 Challenge class behind Gary.
Rupert Martin was making his debut in the Ferrari open with his newly acquired Ferrari 458 Challenge. Having taken it steady in his new car during testing, Rupert settled in to take a pair of class podium finishes in the races.
Mark McAllister was perhaps the most improved driver of the weekend having improved his lap time to be within 0.7 seconds of the race winning 458 Challenge at the end of race 2 and record a 5th overall and 2nd in class.
Perhaps the most interesting development to come out of the weekend was Gary and Mark acquiring Ferrari 458 Challenge race cars (to replace their F430 Challenge cars) – both of whom will be out racing in their new steeds at this weekend's Ferrari Open finale.

FF Corse Team remain undefeated in GT Trophy
...28/08/2011
Victory at final GT Trophy race
The FF Corse driver pairing of Rob Barff and Leon Price snatched victory at Brands Hatch last weekend to remain undefeated the whole year in the GT Trophy series. The duo shared the Leon's Ferrari 458 GT3 to record their fourth victory from four starts, maintaining their 100% record this season.
The race was made all the more dramatic when the #88 car dropped off the lead lap with two unscheduled pit stops; first for a leaking fuel valve and the second for a puncture. The fight back by Rob Barf enabled the car to regain the lead position with 40 minutes remaining and maintain the lead until the chequered flag.
The father and son combination of Rupert & Alex Martin also recorded another successful result to finish second in class in the 3-hour endurance race in their Ferrari F430 Challenge GTC. Mark McAllister teamed up with professional driver Charlie Hollings, although unfortunately the pairing was delayed with a gearbox issue which required a lengthy pit stop and forced them to drop away from their initial early lead in class.
Cliff Fox/Paul McNeilly/Jamie Stanley were due to become the first FF Corse driver's to start a race for the team with a Ferrari 458 Challenge. However and despite setting a succession of quick laps in testing on Friday the trio were forced to withdraw after an incident at Surtees resulted in damage to the rear crash structure of the car.
The next races coming up are as follows:-
August 29th : Castle Combe (Ferrari Open)
September 10th & 11th : Snetterton (Ferrari Open)
September 17th & 18th : Silverstone (Ferrari Open)

FF Corse drivers celebrate on the podium
FF Corse celebrated with 6 drivers on the podium at the Oulton Park GT Trophy race after the two-driver combined two-hour race. Gary Eastwood and Ian Hartley followed with Class victory in their Ferrari 430 Challenge GTC with Richard Bramham & Phil Andrews backing up the result and coming home third in the same class.
6 FF Corse drivers celebrate on the podium
Despite winning their class, Gary Eastwood and Ian Hartley did not have everything their own way as Rupert & Alex Martin qualified their similar FF Corse F430 Challenge on class pole position, just behind the overall pole position of Leon & Rob. Unfortunately for the father and son pairing an accident in the first race, whilst leading the class, meant they car were unable to start the second part of the race.
The next round of the GT Trophy is a 3-hour race at Brands Hatch on the grand prix circuit on August 21st , FF Corse members are welcome as always and passes will be available.

GT Cup: Snetterton (June 25th & 26th )
FF Corse entered the GT Cup race at Snetterton with four Ferrari F430 Challenge GTC cars over the blistering hot weekend of June 25th & 26th . The weekend resulted in Gary Eastwood taking front row starts in both races and despite a DNF in race one, was extremely unlucky not to win race two, after taking the lead before the race was stopped and losing the victory on the one-lap count back rule. Regular GT Open driver Peter Bamford was having his first run in a Ferrari F430 and took a solid 3rd place podium position in both races.
Leon Price became the innocent party in a first corner accident in race one and fought back in race two to finish in 4th position.
Rupert Martin had a difficult qualifying session and duly set about making amends in the races with a charge through the field, this included gaining ten positions in the first lap of race one and subsequently finishing 5th and 6th in the two races.

2nd Place Finish at Brands Hatch: GT Cup
FF Corse driver Gary Eastwood made a fantastic return to the GT Cup podium after being forced to miss the Oulton Park round due to illness.
Having suffered from handling problems and a trip to the gravel in qualifying leaving, Gary started both races from 8th place on the grid. Despite this set-back the FF Corse driver staged an effective fightback in the races to finish second on the road in both races. Unfortunately the fightback was a bit too effective and he was penalised 20 seconds for a yellow flag infringement in the first race, but made up for it by repeating the second place finish in a rain soaked second race, this time with no penalty.
Rupert Martin was visiting the Brands Hatch GP for the first time and conditions in both races could not have been more difficult for the Dextra sponsored car. Despite this and a couple of spins in the races, Rupert improved steadily throughout the weekend, accumulating enough Championship points along the way to take him to 101 points in the Championship table.

Ferrari Open Race : Gary Eastwood records FF Corse's 25th win
Gary Eastwood recorded a quarter-century of race wins for FF Corse with two class wins and overall race win at the Ferrari Open race at Donington Park last weekend. Gary could only manage 3rd in a damp qualifying for the first race and raced hard to finish 1st in class and second overall with fastest race lap. In the second race he made amends in qualifying with a stunning Pole position lap. In the race he secured the overall race victory, after a desperately close fought battle for the lead.
Gary Eastwood charging
The race meeting was Gary's first appearance in the series this year, fellow FF Corse member Nick Knight was making an excellent race debut and having qualified an excellent 5th in the hotly contested C3 class, he raced to finish one better in 4th position.
Nick Knight's & car before race debut
Richard Bramham was hot on the heels of Nick and spent the weekend improving with every session, recording good results in only his second and third race finish . On Saturday he qualified just behind Nick for the first race, improving in the race by one place to finish 5th in Class C3. Richard qualified an improved 4th in Class for the second race and having briefly managed to get ahead of some of the more powerful class C4 cars, finished the race in 4th position (7th overall).

Two Podiums for FF Corse at Oulton Park
FF Corse driver Toby Tarrant-Willis finished both GT Cup races at Oulton Park on the podium at the weekend. The result is Toby's first podium finish in the Ferrari F430 Challenge GTC and comes after suffering a puncture at Silverstone whilst running in second place.
FF Corse team mate Rupert Martin also had successful races having lost out in qualifying to a shortened session. He achieved his best result in race two, finishing 9 th overall from a starting position of 15th on the grid. Leon Price & Gary Eastwood suffered a more frustrating weekend. Gary was struck down by illness and was unable to attend the race meeting altogether. Leon meanwhile showed very well in testing on Friday, but unfortunately his car was damaged heavily in a qualifying accident on Saturday morning and he was unable to take the start for either races. FF Corse now faces a battle to get the car ready for the next GT round at Brands Hatch on June 4th & 5th.
Ferrari Owners Club: Oulton Park -May 10th

Silverstone Ferrari Open
FF Corse had a very successful weekend culminating in a Class win at Silverstone in the Ferrari Open Series and a debut victory for the new Ferrari 458 GT3 at Snetterton.
The FF Corse pit garage
The Ferrari Open series took place on Saturday at Silverstone in bright sunny conditions and with FF Corse entries for Richard Bramham, Robert Macfarlane, Cliff Fox and Leon Price.
FF Corse drivers looking relaxed
Leon qualified on pole position for the class, ahead of some of the newer, more powerful Ferrari 458 Challenge cars. In the race he battled hard with the 458 Challenge cars and eventually finished second overall, winning the class. Cliff Fox was the next FF Corse driver home, having driven a drama free race in his Ferrari 430 GT3. Richard Bramham made an excellent race debut in his Ferrari F430 and also battled with the 458 Challenge cars before a mid-race spin lost him some time and places. Last-time-out winner Robert Macfarlane drove very well to record another class podium with second overall in the 360 Challenge class.

The next Ferrari Open Series race takes place later this month at Donington on May 28th & 29th.

Happy drivers on the podium
Furthermore the Leon Price/Rob Barff entry was followed home in the 2 hour combined race by Paul McNeilly and Jamie Stanley in the older Ferrari 430 GT3 to record a historic 1st & 2nd overall for the FF Corse team and the drivers even managed to cross the line at the end of the race in a "Le Mans" style formation finish.
Ferrari Motorsport Paintings
FF Corse have been offered two original Dexter Brown Ferrari 512 original paintings. The paintings by renowned motorsport artist Dexter Brown are executed in gouache on board and both signed by the artist.
The # 16 Ferrari 512 is the David Piper entered car for the 1971 Le mans 24 hour race and driven by Chris Craft and David Weir to 4th.place overall.
The image size is 30cm x 21cm and it will be supplied framed. The overall framed item will be approximately 46cm x 37cm. The price is £2450.00

FF Corse take delivery of Ferrari 458 Italia GT3 at Monza
FF Corse took delivery at Monza yesterday of the new Ferrari 458 Italia GT3. The car, driven by Leon Price and Rob Barff, is scheduled to make its debut in the GT Trophy race at Snetterton next week (May 2nd).
FF Corse technicians have spent the last few days finishing the preparation and build of the car in Italy at Michelotto as well as undergoing a technical training programme. After an initial installation by ex-F1 driver and factory Ferrari driver Gianmaria Bruni, the stunning new car completed a successful shakedown test around the famous Italian circuit.
The limited edition FIA homologated car has been designed and built by the factory Ferrari tuners, Michelotto. Features include revised carbon fibre bodywork and suspension, as well as front and rear aero and it is also fitted with a racing sequential gearbox and pneumatic paddle shift.

FF Corse drivers record double podium at Silverstone

GT Cup: Silverstone - April 16th & 17th
FF Corse finished on the podium in both races of the GT cup at the weekend with Gary Eastwood finishing an excellent 2nd in race one and Leon Price taking a strong 3rd position in race two.
The unluckiest driver was Toby Tarrant-Willis, who was making his Ferrari race debut with FF Corse. Despite an excellent qualifying position and running as high as 2nd place in race two, Toby failed to finish either race due to an unavoidable collision in race one and a puncture whilst looking good for a strong podium in race.
Rupert Martin in the newly resplendent Yellow Dextra colours ran well all weekend and with improving lap times looked good for a strong result in race two before being spun round by a competitor, dropping him down the order.
The next race GT Cup race is at Oulton Park on May 14th.

Ferrari 458 Challenge Hits The Track
...04/04/2011
Successful debut for Ferrari 458 Challenge car
FF Corse ran the new Ferrari 458 Challenge at Oulton Park for the first time on Tuesday. The car, which was running alongside a F430 Challenge was an instant hit and drew lots of admiring attention from up and down the pit lane.
The latest one-make series spec car from Ferrari was described by the owner as a fantastic car and a considerable step forward from the Ferrari F430 Challenge. The car is considerably more advanced than the previous Challenge model and comes with a multi-stage traction control system - for dry and wet settings, as well as air-conditioning as standard.
The 4.5L V8 car produces 562 BHP and is fitted with a Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) gearbox producing a smooth and seamless gearchange.
FF Corse technicians have recently undertaken a full technical training programme for the Ferrari 458 Challenge and are now fully versed in the latest Ferrari racing products.

FF Corse wins GT Trophy Race
...04/04/2011
Last-Gasp Victory
FF Corse drivers Leon Price and Rob Barff won the first GT Trophy race of the season at Donington Park this weekend. The winning car started from the outside of the front row and snatched the lead in the 2 hour race with just over a lap remaining to seal a dramatic last minute victory for FF Corse .
The car started the race after qualifying alongside the FF Corse team mates Gary Eastwood and Ryan Lewis on the all FF Corse dominated front-row.
Gary Eastwood started from pole position and ran at the head of the field for the first 54 minutes, despite coming under heavy pressure from a more powerful Porsche. After their pitstop they resumed in second position with Ryan Lewis chasing and catching the now leading Porsche. Unfortunately driveshaft failure after 1hr20 minutes put paid to any potential victory.
Meanwhile, the Leon Price/Rob Barff car had been recovering from a delayed first-lap and Leon spent his driving stint charging back up the order before handing over to Rob Barff at 58 minutes. Having gambled at the pitstop not to change rear tyres Rob Barff proceeded to use the FF Corse car to hunt down the leading cars and was quickly up to second place and catching the Porsche.
With a lap and a half remaining Rob swept past the Porsche at the back of the circuit and held on to take the overall and class victory in the close fought exchange.
The next GT Trophy encounter is at Snetterton on May 2nd.
Le Manoir & Jerez
...10/03/2011
Pre-Season Lunch
The last 10 days have seen the pre-season FF Corse lunch on Sunday February 28th , followed by a 2 day event at Jerez and the first Silverstone track-day – a busy start to the year, which is set to only get even busier as the track-day and race season unfolds.
Le Manoir in Oxfordshire made a fantastic setting for second pre-season lunch and the event was attended by 30 FF Corse members and guests – the maximum number possible in their private dining facility. The lunch and service was excellent as expected and it was great to see so many old and new faces.
FF Corse member Russ Nathan commented “ FF Corse has truly established itself and the lunch marked its coming of age”
All guests received copies of the FF Corse hardback year books featuring photographs of FF Corse drivers and cars from events and races throughout 2010. Copies of the books will also be sent out this week to members and drivers who were unable to join us at Le Manoir.
Jerez
Straight from Le Manoir the previous day, FF Corse members flew down to Jerez for some pre-season testing in Southern Spain. The weather for the event was excellent and with only a handful of cars in attendance, the track space and time provided the perfect opportunity to blow away winter cob-webs. The good conditions also enabled the drivers and team to test a series of new development parts on the cars.
FF Corse is considering a return to Jerez next year and has already provisionally made enquiries and hopes to again run another similar event.

Upcoming & New FF Corse Track Dates
The start of the 2011 FF Corse UK track season is fast approaching and is scheduled to start on the GP circuit at the Silverstone on March 7th. The track event, at the home of FF Corse, is an ideal opportunity to shakedown cars after the winter and get back into the swing of things.

FF Corse sponsors Ferrari Open
...14/02/2011
FF Corse sponsors The 2011 Ferrari Open Series
FF Corse will increase their association with the Ferrari Owners Club this year through sponsorship of their 2011 Ferrari Open racing series. It is hoped the move will lead to an increased profile within the Ferrari Owners Club for FF Corse and an increased awareness of The Ferrari Open. The idea behind the move is to create a logical progression for owners wishing to progress with the Ferrari brand through track-days and into racing. As FF Corse had fielded the largest number of drivers in the series last year, it was seen as a natural step to take up the offer of sponsorship.
Last year a total of 8 FF Corse drivers participated in the Ferrari Open races, registering 10 overall and class and wins between them. A feat which it is hoped can be matched or bettered this year.
All cars entering the race series will be seen to carry the FF Corse branded visor strips on their windscreens and regular updates and reports will be seen in the Ferrari Owners Club magazines and websites.
For further information please email acheshire@ffcorse.com or contact Anthony Cheshire on 01327 857601.
